The BioRocker is a patented, advanced concept in wet/dry filtration for use in a sump tank to serve aquariums as large as 220 gallons. It provides a high-capacity biofilter, a mechanical filter, and space to add chemical filtration.
The BioRocker biofilter assembly is an inverted "V" formed by two panels of biolfiltration media joined at the top and nesting inside the housing between two cam rails. The rocker assembly tilts 20 degrees back and forth under a steady stream of flowing water to alternately expose the biofilm in each panel to air and water, maximizing the rate of nitrification on both the internal and external surfaces of the biofiltration media. Cell-Pore Bio-Rocker provides 32,000 square feet of surface area, roughly equivalent to 45,000 Bio Balls. Excess surface area creates a starved biofilm providing a low maintenance system. Rocker assembly tilts 20 degrees back and forth under flowing water to alternately expose the Cell-Pore panel to air and water. Aquarium water is cooled by the evaporative nature of the filtration process. (Pump not included)
